There is no compression of frequencies in the loudness process, correct?

Another question for ya–i dont even bother peak normalizing my audio clips because it is basically just boosting amplitude of the entire clip….but… what about “Loudness Normalization”?

Thanks for the responses….what about this scenario?

I have a sequence with levels riding around -18db. If i turned those levels down to say -30db, then boosted them back to -18 using the the “loudness” slider in the mastering window, would they sound different? Would they sound either louder or softer and/or have a different EQ?

When i do try this, it does sound different (better) but it almost sound like there is some compression added.

Im always editing in a 108024 timeline with 24 p footage. If 4k footage its scaled to size in timeline.
Ive experimented with many different export settings, including maximum render quality.

Ive noticed the “interlaced feel” on consumer Tv monitors. i know they can have different refresh rates and also have settings for a more fluid motion that might be turned on…but again, i only seem to notice this on my productions.
Might be all in my head–which is why i asked if anyone else had this issue. Its annoying though…
