  • That’s what I was afraid of. It’s odd. We have another 4K project shot at a similar bitrate on a A7SII and it only use about 10% CPU.

The FS7 footage playback also totally dies anytime you layer 2-3 tracks, even if there is no transition, opacity or transfer function in play. It’s as if Premiere is trying to decode all the tracks before it figures out it should just ignore the lower tracks.

  • Okay, I figured it out. Yes, I imported through media browser. The problem was that this particular interview was linked to second system sound files. Once the video and audio from separate sources are linked on the timeline the source file based commands are unavailable. The solution is to option click the desired A or V clip and choose the command or manually unlink and relink.

If anyone form Adobe is following this here’s a minor feature request; Perhaps a better way to handle the above scenario would be to let the user choose the command and give an error that says why it’s invalid “Cannot reveal clips from separate sources linked on the timeline”. Or even better, a short dialog that let’s them pick which source file to reveal, edit, source settings, etc.

I’ll leave this up in case someone else makes the same mistakes. Thanks for the reply!
