    I think it depends on how much heat you want to simulate. I’d start with one of the “burning sword” emitters (from the July ’06 library, IIRC), and turn off the sparks. You might have to change the weight over life so that the smok stays along the path of the ship instead of rising so quickly, but I think that’s be an effective place to begin.

    Oh yeah, I understood that… I was sure it was a 3D effect in the movie. I was expressing my admiration for how well PI was able to replicate a complex effect so well. 🙂

    I was really impressed with this one. When I saw the movie, I assumed that they used a 3D effect, and it never even occurred to me that it could be done in PI.
