Thanks Graham for the veggie, I’m in the process of figuring it out…;-)
As far as Bob’s advice, I knew this it the effect I need, but I couldn’t really understand how to use it as explained. Can you please give more detailed instructions?

Not bad.
How did you masked the lamp, nice technique!
I would not mask the background since the client wants it as authentic as possible.
Can you brighten the talent without touching the background? Selective cookie cutter???
Looks like I have to correct the colors separately, I mean high/mid/low tones. And they are not stable during the video.
I would like to have some advanced filter to do it all (or some) automatically, some kind of intelligent color correction, but probably there is not such a thing yet.
Well, in any case I have to do it.
Here is what I did with Sony Levels only:

Yes. Oh well.
Here is the answer I got from Vegasaur: Vegasaur can generate/import subtitles (with desired font, color etc.), but currently it cannot change their properties. This feature is in our “wish” list. -

January 13, 2013 at 9:27 am in reply to: Choosing a shotgun mic for shooting video at a distanceYep, these are the ones, although I don’t know how Peter has a kit with two receivers, I didn’t find any sets like this on the market.
They are actually the cheapest for the quality they offer.

January 11, 2013 at 3:16 am in reply to: Choosing a shotgun mic for shooting video at a distanceYes Peter, that’s just what I meant, two receivers and one transmitter. So it means that I just have to buy one extra receiver and tune it on the same frequency as the other one?

January 10, 2013 at 6:27 am in reply to: Choosing a shotgun mic for shooting video at a distanceWell actually after checking out the Sennheiser EW122P G3 system, it’s really worth the investment.
I realized, in that way I can actually eliminate having a big mike on a stand in front of the speaker, just a small lav hang on the clothing and that’s it! So that’s really convenient and also wireless!
I’m almost ready to go for this system, but there’s one question.
I want the signal go to both the PA system and into the camera. Can I have two receivers instead of one?
Or I could plug the receiver into PA and take a feed into my XLR port on the camera. In that way I can have great sound for indoor shoots and have the portable receiver topped on the camera when I’m outdoors. Am I right?
Thank you again for your time, I would have never figured this all out on my own.

January 9, 2013 at 10:32 am in reply to: Choosing a shotgun mic for shooting video at a distanceHi!
Thank you all for your advice, now it’s quite clear.
I’ll have to think about the wireless system, it’s quite expensive for me. But I might go for it or something similar if that could be combined with wireless microphones. I also want to get a wireless microphone system for general use and if it would also include a radio transmitter for the camera then that I’m interested in.
Any recommendations on that?
Hi Ty! Thank you for the review on the mike! NTG-3 sounds better and as you said, it tolerates humidity, but the price is almost 3 times more than the previous model. If I could afford it, I would take it. I think I still have to go with NTG-2 and the time I’ll be in India will be dry. Rainy season is another story, but usually it’s quite dry there.
Thanks again for the tips, cheers.

Ok, I had the feeling that I should get mic anyway, here’s the confirmation;-) I will probably get a Rode ntg-2. Is that a good choice?
2 questions: Can you recommend a good portable radio system for wireless pickup? How will the receiver be set on the camera?
And thanks for mentioning the headphones, I really have to get a good pair of them. Any recommendations on that part also?
My regards
