  • Hey Jan,

Thank you for replying, im not too worried about recording, i have and hvx200a camera system for that. Mostly live shows. So you think ill be able to use that camera to broadcast live television interviews or am i playing with fire and could lose clients because of it.

Would like to know your feedback,

    thank you jan.

  • Hey Raf,

Thanks for replying, I’m doing up to 10 interviews per month, its cheaper to buy than to rent for me. I looked at the figures, if do 100 ill spend 30k in rental; Buy 12k.

I need to have the capability to do both hd and sd, both cameras support it. Im haven’t played with the af-af100 camera yet. When i run a test and compare them myself ill put some pictures and my theses.

    Thanks.

It has to meet NTSC regulations and specs .

Mainly checking video signal levels and audio. You also check for gamma, blanking, sync and size; 720×480. (HD and Sd signals are different, depends who you are sending it to.)

It needs to be Qc by a video engineer like my self with a vector-scope and the experiance. Some legalizers can do that for you, if you have the budget it will help you a lot. Still go with an eng.

    hope that’s helpful for you

Rob answer my question guys, he took to the time to explain what i needed.

Basically you need an interface that has 6 outputs that go directly to your 5.1 speakers….PreSonus makes one and its called “Firebox”..its a firewire box that goes directly to your computer.

You have to assign the channels from final cut and match them in the firebox. This is the only way you can monitor 5.1 in FCP..FCP does not read AC3 files therefore you can only monitor through discrete channels.

If you got any questions let me know, ill be glad to help you like Rob helped me.

    Thank you for answering,

I was reading the FCP manuel and it says that you can’t mix or edit 5.1, but you CAN monitor. That’s what i want to do, just monitor.

I have version 6.0.4. If you go to fcp help page..go to page 835, it explains that you can do it but doesn’t tell you how and what to buy.
