On the contrary: AE handles almost all formats. You can use your footage as it is in AE

Well I don’t know about CS 4. I’m still on CS 3. And I am not an expert in these things, but previewing using the AJA Adobe plug in (yes that one) was sometimes troublesome while going the old fashioned way works without any problems for me.

I stopped using Nucleo Pro 2. AE’s multiprocessing feels steadier and as fast as NP. Also sopped using AJA Adobe preview plug in. Goins traight the way Walter describes

I did. Throughput for 1280/720 10 bits with 4 gig file size: read 227 MB/s and write 219,4 MB/s. Wouldn’t that be more than enough?

My cameraman put me on the right track. Turns out that my Kona LHe can’t keep up with it when downscaling the signal to SD for my SD video monitor

I’n having issues with the new AJA Adobe plug in as well. Sometimes playback is real time, sometimes not. Depends on what kind of things you do in AE. I think it has something to do with living in PAL land too.
Also when I make a widescreen SD comp in AE, it doesn’t crop the image to the proper proportions. Have to do it on the monitor. Can’t do it in the AJA control panel either, Annoying
