Thanks. That’s very helpful. Obviously I’m using a self-taught method that isn’t great for FCPX. Will also see why making keyword collections through ranges isn’t working for me. Might be doing something wrong. Because I see your point – I’m adding a whole step. And thanks for Alt-X – I had forgotten about that shortcut.

Keith, have just been playing around with Jubler and I’m going to see if any of the translators are willing to give it a go, otherwise I’ll do Andreas’s method. If they are willing, it makes so much sense. It’s the kind of thing I was looking for but I know not everyone will be as excited as me.

Sounds like the way to go. I think these translators will want a super simple option. I just need to get the formatting right from the start. So they provide timecode in to out: “00:00:00:00-00:03:05:22 tab description” and your software will interpret this correctly and export out an srt that will be accurate on import?

Thanks so much Keith. I’ll have a look. As I said to Andreas, Jubler just didn’t come up in my searches and I am keen to see what can work – even if it’s for future projects as this comes up a lot in my world.

Yes, exactly, I am thinking that they aren’t going to want to mess around, but will check out Jubler. I have been googling this for days and didn’t see it!

Thanks so much! I obviously knew of #1 but not the others. Very interesting ideas. Just would love a converter from the time stamped doc to srt. They seem to exist but I may need to play around.

Unfortunately, I can’t do that as the video won’t be in a language they can translate.
