    **Unexplained double speed**

I am having unexplained issue while working in Davinci Studio and I hope I can get a resolution as I am at a loss.

I have clips in my bins, and when I double-click any clip, it appears in the preview window (so I can select the in-out and paste onto my timeline). I have two monitors, and on one monitor I have both the timeline editing window, and to the left of it, the preview window, where I can preview all clips from the bins. All of a sudden yesterday, after working normally, the clips in the preview window are playing the audio of the clips in the bin in double time (so the person’s voice sounds kind of comic) and the video clip remains the same speed, so naturally the clip is out of synch.

I verified that the source clip plays fine in the finder.

All other edits that already exist on the timeline play just fine. it is just any clip from one of my bins that I double click to play in the preview window that play double speed.

I tried selecting in-out from the preview window and place on timeline, the clip is imported to timeline with audio double speed as well. All other clips that were on timeline before this happened, are fine. That tells me that the issue is before the timeline and are in the playback of source clips in preview window. MAYBE IT IS A SETTING OF PREVIEW WINDOW?

Thinking maybe this is a memory issue, I quit Davinci and restarted Mac and rezapped the RAM, but nada.

This is scary and frustrating. This just start hapenning to me this evening, and the entire evening and week I have been editing fine. I wonder if clicked on a key that I am not familiar with and that caused the issue?

Please help as I am on a deadline and not sure what is happening here..

    Thank you

If an FCP7 project file is greater than 100MB (yes, MB) then you are prone to crash the application and memory errors.
I had that constantly while working on my documentary and discovered it in one of the Apple forums. What i had to do is to slim down the timeline. it may be cumbersome but works.

    Thank you for that.
Also, if there are characters in ANY of the fields in the file description in the browser, FCP will get the error.

    Hi Shane,
I am running into what i think is the same problem here…
i am trying to export a quicktime movie of one of the clips from the multi cam that is on the same sequence as the rest of the clips. (it is a performance, that I broke down into each song and placed each song on the same timeline as I was working on it).

Every time i try exporting, i set in/out, select the multi clip and send export to QT. but it gives me some random selection from the timeline..

tried what you said above, and still getting these random selection. am I missing something?
    Thanks
