I would :
1.edit with transcoded dnx or prores/
2.grade with original if simple grading is needed. (every diplay of an image requires decompression to 444)

and don’t forget , quality doesnt have to do nothing with a footage being intra or inter. its more to do with editing convenience. Some inter frame codecs have superior quality and extremely small sizes. then you got the a b frames…

fcp x has mutlicam clips as default export option. I am coming from Avid background so still adjusting to xml world. Can you send an example of how you’d like it to be exported? I will try my best 🙂

It creates EDL.
One version includes Premiere CS6 support and Vegas (still in testing mode)

It’s really an issue with all these apps not using the new Cocoa Library. I wouldn’t think that this will happen on Windows though.
The whole GUI is normally handled with OpenCL engine but both Avid and Premiere use ; in case of Avid , they use Nokia’s QT Framework for their development, and Premiere has custom Adobe cross platform library.
And you have a recipe for a lot of troubles 🙂

The other way being the apple closed shop way of using their cocoa which is 100% accelerated by OPen Cl , which they started using with their new FCP X, and threw away the old code of FCP Pro, but since they are starting from scratch.. it will take a while to get decent product.

AVCHD is nightmare.. especially when used on longer projects
