Hi Eddie,
OK, details of the system etc are:
using CS4 with latest updates on Vista 32 bit, processor is 2.67Mhz with 4Gig ram, plus a NVidia GE8500GT video card with the latest drivers installed for Vista.
I have CS3 installed as well and PPROCS3 runs perfectly.
I am only using one monitor (Dell 2707 – 27 inch) and have plenty of hard disk space on both 7200 rpm disks – using one for scratch disk and one for programs.
I have no third party plug-ins installed and the trials I have been trying to run in CS4 have only been using JPEG stills – same files in CS3 run fine.
When I double click on an image in the timeline, it does show in the program window, but running the ‘clip’ (of a number of stills) does not change the image as the CTI progresses along the timeline. Also when I resize the program monitor, it leaves ‘traces’ like you can set up with a mouse – vertical lines like the sides of the program monitor window – however when the program is ‘minimized’ and then reopened – the ‘traces’ are gone.
My ‘feeling’ is that it could be that the Video card does not have enough ‘grunt’ with CS4 – but apart from not being able to see any image in either the program or source monitor, it seems to handle other programs (such as PhotoShop) and tasks fine.
Regards
Ian
