I’m a little confused by you referring to an uncompressed MPEG file…since MPEG 2 is a compression format, so I may be barking up the wrong tree with this bit of advice. The only OS X software I have found which will do MPEG 2 compression on HD footage is FFMPEGX ( https://homepage.mac.com/major4/ ). It’s not the most user friendly piece of software, and you will need to install a few other bits and pieces to get it working, but it does the job.
