I don’t think temps are the issue because the cooler on my GPU is so badass haha. It’s MSI Suprim X version.

I also game with it and using apps like MSI Afterburner and Riva Tuner Statistics Server to monitor GPU temp, frequency etc… in real time. None were high. In fact GPU temps never exceeded 60 degrees under %100 load.

But I’m leaning towards the cable issue. The cable can run 1.4 but isn’t certified for it so extra bandwidth stresses it out, causes glitches maybe?

I’m running at high frequency because it feels more fluid when working. Why is it bad to crank it up?

Could it be because the DisplayPort cable version? My monitor has 2 options in the OSD menu, under the DisplayPort version: 1.2 and 1.4.

I’m using a DisplayPort 1.2 cable and still was able to pick 1.4 option there and successfully ran my monitor at 3440x1440p 160Hz 8bit.

When I choose 1.2 in the monitor, refresh rate drops down to 100Hz.
