    dude! network render in AE : sucks!!! too cumbersome.
    Here’s my alternative:
    Set up two computers (A & B) with the same settings/fonts/plugins.

    Connect via network, then open up the same project on A from B, render the precomps while continuing to work on A.

    Final render can be split up b/w two computers. A handles first half while B does the second if need to. If you have more computers, then break up the render even more. Stitch them back up later.

    Works so far for me. No hassle with network render.

    not tough, just tedious. I have no access to NLEs, just the rendered quicktime movies exported out of the Avid. And when you have 7 sequences, 2 to 3 minutes each to color correct, add fx and graphics within a day or so, it would be nice to shave off a few hours of monkey work.

    At a TV station I worked at a few years ago, they brought in a PowerPoint specialist (I didn’t know such a specialist existed in the first place) to do what you are talking about. AE is definitely not the answer.
