  • Hey Tomas, to answer your questions:
    1. The asset I am animating is a TIFF scan of a real map.
    2. The duration of the animation is 3:00:00:00 (3 hours) in a 25fps composition. The scale animation starts at 0:00:00:00 at 22%, and ends at 3:00:00:00 at 235000%, therefore it goes from the full map to a single pixel.
    3. The size of the map is 14039×10200 pixels, and the size of the composition is 1920×1080.
    4. Yes, I mean it is not a smooth animation, its jumping and there is a weird pattern that appears as well. To better illustrate this, you can see a short video preview of three different points in the animation here.

I hope this clears it up a little. Thank you!

  • I have not installed any new software recently, so I can’t understand what happened, but your suggestion has indeed worked and now everything seems to work just fine!
Is there anyway to mark the answer as correct, in case someone else has the same issue?
    Thank you so much Walter!

  • Hi Walter, thank you for your response. I tried what you suggested, but the problem seems to persist.
Also, when I open After Effects, I get this error message:

Which translates to: After Effects warning: error when loading the following plugins. Reinstall the following plugins: C:/Program Files\Adobe…

This also never happened until the same day the problem with mp4 files started happening, and AE won’t open unless I click Ok on the error message. I tried looking for this plugin online but I can’t find a source. Maybe the two issues are related?

Thanks! It’s just what I needed.

However, there seems to be a problem: when I apply the compound blur, the edges of the frame are blurred inwards. With the lens blur there’s the option of repeating the pixels on the edges to avoid this problem. Is there a simple solution to this issue?

    Thanks, that looks great, actually!

The thing is, I am only trying to achieve the effect, but not necessarily on the same font as GoT. This is why I asked, because I wanted to know if there was a way of creating this rounded metallic text (on whatever font I wanted). But I think you indirectly answered me, telling me that this would have to be modeled.

When I increase the caps and the steps, the errors I showed on the images happen, and there is another thing that happens as well when the numbers are big: the letters turn into “balloons”. I’ve been trying all day but I believe the only option would be to model the letters by myself…

Anyway, thank you, I’ll try my best, even though I’m just starting in Cinema4D and I’ve never modeled text before!

  • That worked just as I wanted, thank you very much!
