I am having trouble editing HDV with a 1 gig G4 that has 1.5 gigs of ram. I captured everything and it plays fine in the veiwer window and a full clip will play fine on the time line. But if I make an edit to the clip, it is no longer able to be viewed without rendering. It has no realtime editing capablities. I talked to the genius bar at an Apple store and they don’t even know if Final Cut can edit HDV at realtime. Do I need more ram, a G5, or to convert everything to DV just to get through the project?
