Here’s an update:
So I put Auxiliary Timecode in the Auxiliary TC1 column I added for Cam B that matched the place it synced up for Cam A. I put the in point at the beginning of each clip. I also added Auxiliary TC for Cam A in the column (because it didn’t do it without information in that field).
I highlighted all of my clips and selected Multigroup with Auxiliary TC1 for Sync Clips Using and it gave me a MultiGroup and a group for each Cam B clip I was syncing to Cam A. The weird thing is, the Multigroup has Cam A repeat everytime there is a Cam B. So my Cam A clip is 17 minutes long and the MultiGroup is 1hr 42min because I have 6 Cam B clips. And I have 6 groups that are 17 minutes long and each group only synced one of the Cam A clips.
I think I’m close, but can I get one Group that has my Cam A clip as one camera and Cam B clips as another camera? -
I mean duplicated. But I don’t think she has my merged clips on her drive. I guess I’m unclear how merged clips work since I don’t use them in my own workflow.

Aw bummer. Yea, this was shot in China, so I don’t know what the Hertz rate is for their electrical systems. A reshoot won’t be possible so I guess I can’t use the footage. I was hoping a Sapphire efftect would work, but it seems like their Flicker Remover only does frame flickering, not rolling color correction. 🙁

So I found a temporary solution to this issue.
To completely avoid using XDCAM in FCP, I transcoded the footage to Apple Pro Res (LT) (because that’s what my DSLR footage is) and now I have my sound back in sync and it integrates into my project even better than before. The only losses I had were time, some quality, and hard drive space. So until this bug, or whatever this problem is, get’s figured out, better luck transcoding. -
I set the sequence to match the footage.
1920 x 1080 HDTV 1080i (16:9)
Square
23.98
Compressor: XDCAM HD422 1080p24 (50MB/s)
Audio: 48 kHz
24-bit
I can play the clips outside of FCP and they sound fine so it’s something going on with FCP. -
Sounds like a good plan. I haven’t used clusters before but I guess it’s a good time to learn. Now I just have to wrangle up those friends. 🙂
Thanks everyone! -
No, they didn’t use Log & Transfer. They used MPEG Streamclip and batch converted all the files from the 5D to APR Proxy. I prefer Compressor but maybe MPEG Streamclip would be faster?

I was afraid of that answer. So you don’t think that creating an offline, media managed project would help?

No, this is not a commercial DVD. It was given to my friend from a friend in Italy who happens to know how to program menus and alternate languages. If it’s not possible, I’ll just have to tell him to play it on his computer. Oh PAL…why can’t we all just get along?

I’m running a MacBook Pro, 2.6 GHz Intel, 4GB memory.
I have a few programs to help with this task: DVD Studio Pro 4, FCP 6, MacTheRipper, MPEG Streamclip, Toast 10, Handbrake and Compressor.
So is there a way to at least get to the English version of the audio and rip the main video with that?
