  • Just Auto Iris and Auto Zoom and the good old 8 pin interface. I actually sent an eMail to Fujitsu to explain it. So I’ll post their reply as soon as I get one.

  • Well according to Fujinon, I got that quote from their info sheet on that lens.

  • Wow…Thanks Will that gives me a much clearer understanding of the nature of the Beast. I guess we will do the best run’n’gun with our Letus ultimate on the hvx200’s for now & maybe get our hands on an EX3 down the line.

  • Well that definitely helps. Did you shoot that with EX3 and the Lens it comes with? What am I really getting if I go the EX3 route with the extra Fujinon HD lens that costs over 7500.00 aside from the lens range… Is Letus or the likes the low cost solution or will any 2/3″ shoulder rig give me the DOF we’re looking for to shoot a feature film? You mentioned the RED, I gather that works with its 35mm lens mount.

My workflow includes a Kona 3 so that handles the HD-SDI and Audio components and a RAID array that sustains 350mb/sec.. The big issue for me and perhaps others is that the quality of HDV is not acceptable when shooting fast moving objects…too much drop off. Is there a reasonably priced HD camera out there that can send the HD to Hard Drive or some other digital media. Is DVCPRO HD that the XL H1 also supports a better solution over HDV?

What about using the HVR-DR60 Hard Disk Recording Unit from Sony. You can simultaneously archive your work and also get 1080i direct to disk. The question I have here is that this is still NOT true HD but HDV right? Is there anyway to get true HD output from the Z1u or do you have to step up to JVC GY-100, 200 etc…The biggest issue I have with the HDV format is in seeing artifacts when shooting lots of movement. Anyway to get around these HDV artifacts when using products like direct to disk and AJA KONA 3?
