your camera layer what sort of camera is it and by the looks of it , it looks like its inlarged taking up alot of space.

can you go to your camera properties and copy and paste all these data here so i can just copy and past them into mine and se the effect of it.

i have same specs as you with gtx 980 and antec psu my efter effects run fine even on full mode.

if you have 2 ssd assign 1ssd for writing file and other ssd for reading.
press caps and go to edit / purge all.
right click on composition and disable 3d ray traced.
go to preference and select gpu rather then cpu in display settings.

as you can se in this top video the top of the building may be easy to remove with photoshop and make patch and have it shatter later in after effects , but problem comes in when the building has other buildings behind it , you may say just patch the background buildings to but , am trying to learn how to just make the forground of the building blown up shatter leaving the background building/house intact.

after effects is good but i think adobe maybe not telling us something , i think after effects is bad written application.

i have used other apps video editing and on the fly u add affects blue and the scroller does not get slow not for a second super smooth , so its after effects to blame and script writers

what i do is with mocha is i do alot of checks with the video why it cannot track it what is causing the track issues ,

color
brightness
sharpness
pixels.
video format

if you have checked all them and not worked , create image sequence mocha tracks it super smooth and fast and accurate then movie file.
