  • thank you everyone for your responses, obviously an FCP issue that we all have our own methods at dealing with… for me modifying the clip in the viewer works, even modifying the source clip in the viewer so one does not accidentally leave the browser clip with its speed changed…
what would be simpler maybe, a checkbox on the speed properties box that asks to adjust the following clips, or to overwrite… horses for courses i guess!

i would say break the project up into managable chunks either by project or selecting certain bins, seqs, in/out points etc sand media managing the chunks to several drives. You will then have several projects created by MM, open these new project files and combine the bins etc to a new project that holds all your media linked to several different drives… could be the trick 😉

    Thanks for your reply Tom.
The Keyspan twin serial adapter seems to be the lead to use, however looking into this I see it has Mini DIN8 ports where as the HVR-1500 has a DB9 port. I’ve looked into some sort of connector to join the two but have found no sign of such a cable unless I make it myself… any suggestions?

This is all for the cause of being able to insert edit, as using just firewire does not enable us to do so.

    cheers
