Okay guys..

Yes topher, i allready checked the toggle grid for transperacy on. Thats working fine. But when i export the movie as a mov, avi or mpeg, ot all come out the same. I still cant see trough it. Black screen.

Nel: ofcourse, i should have started out with saying what im hoping to achieve. I have recorded my self on a green screen, and i wanna use the video as a web host on my site. The reason for it to be transparent is that im gonna have text and graphic behind it, also if i change the colors a lot in the main flash movie background, it is good to have a transparent movieclip I even may use it on a big PNG..

I hope this made any sence, or please write me back..

Okay…

Yes it defintly helped out thinking like that, that it dont stop but “fades down” sort of speak..

Now i see the picture of it and the downsides. Because when i add a effect, lets say from the “image- speciel effect” and i choose the “Bad tv 3 weak”, it has multiple effect attached to it. So i would have to set all of its values to zero, and then when i found the time area where i want the effect to “appear”, i will have to reset all its values again.. 🙁

This is not a effective way, if you working with one layer and add 3-4 differents effect to it… Is this the simplest way??

Would you do it the same way?

Well i want to import it to flash after i it have bin trough the flash video encoder.

Regarding my first approch, i followed the book and in there i also tried

“Creating video with transparency requires a certain type of render out of AE, typically a codec which allows for RGB plus Alpha or ‘Millions+’. A lossless codec such as ‘Animation”

After this i got the black screen. But in AE the transperacy looks great.

I know it´s probraly just me, so if you could guide me trough make this happend, would be much appreciated. I really need this.

Where exactly is the

“switch at the bottom of the preview window that has a white/grey checkerboard, hit that”

You mean in aftereffect right? Cant find it..

Ok steve..

I found out about setting the first effect from the presets, and i add a keyframe and set its value(in this case maganifycation value) to zero. So far so good.

Now a couple of frames after the keyframe where my first effect stops, i wanted to add another effect, when i did that, the new effet just overlapsed the old one, and it starts from the beginning of the clip!! How can o add a keyframe to the new effect??

You say that in the effect panel, the property for that effect can be set to zero depending on the Effect. Where exactly?

And why is the reset option or the way you set the value to zero, not the same for every effect??

Ok here is an exsample:

I made a short clip, about 16 seconds. Only one layer. I applyied the effect “Magnify” from the preset to the layer. Now this effect is running in the entire clip until the clip is over. How can i stop this effect in the middle of the clip? And also how will I add a new effect on the same layer?

okay..

My first approach were spliting layer´s. How do i set up keyframes for one layer, and when i dont want the effect at that time in the timeline, where do i set the effect to zero??

Sorry for me being so noob. But hey, one day it may be me giving advice 🙂 ( hardly) lol…

allright thanks a bunch.. This did the trix, well allmost..

After i split the layers and applied an effect to the top layer. How do i reduce the effect lenght at the end of that layer, before the second effect shows??

I mean the effect are different. Some effect shows only at the first frames and others are there until the hole clip are finished.

So let´s say after i split a layer in 3 piecies because i want 3 different effects. And i apply a effect to the top layer, but this effect is an one that continues on the layer until the clip has run out.. How do i make thoose effect only last for a few seconds or just simply stop, so that the clip appears normal again before the second effect is executed.
