I never thought divx was professional compression for editing, but its wide spread enough to expect support for it, especially if one is crazy enough to get the pro version of all software involved. Not to mention the major incompatibility of quicktime with pretty much anything, which even in its pro state isnt to play standard multiplexed mpegs from premiere, where a vlc player doesn’t even think twice.
But true, my mistake of thinking that mac did everything in video editing, because unfortunately it is built around quicktime, that lacks basic compatibility with the rest of the world, which I failed to acknowledge.
Will see if I get anywhere with Mr. Amador’s advice.
