Thanks for the reply. They call the thing a legacy filter and I got my hopes up high that there might be some backwards compatability! Oh well.

Sorry it has taken me so long to update.

I’ve followed all the tips and advice I’ve been offered but the problem still persists. Much of the advice has been useful, as at least the rate of glitching has diminished.

Also I have found that the rate of glitching is much higher when capturing from my V1 than when capturing from my HC1. The V1 will be going back to Sony for investigation.

In the meantime I’m trying to get Vegas support to provide a solution and am currently at the stage of being asked to run a whole bunch of tests (try a new firewire cable sort of thing). The problem occurs with the latest releases of Vegas 7 on an XP 32 bit system and Vegas Move Studio Platinum on a Vista Ultimate 64 bit system.

If I ever get the thing working perfectly I’ll let you know!

I reset the overclocking in the BIOS and it’s fried my motherboard. The system won’t boot, I can’t even flash the BIOS.

A new motherboard is on order. I will keep you updated with developments.

    Thanks for these suggestions.

I’ve ordered the capture card you suggested and will report back as soon as I have it installed!

    Many thanks,

    Guy.

I’m getting exactly the same problem. In particular the font I am trying to use is REALVIRTUE. I have uninstalled the font and installed a different version (in case the font file was corrupt). The font shows up fine in Word and other programs.

I’ll try to have another go in a few days with a fresh approach. I’m feeling rather tired today so I might have overlooked something.

In the meantime thanks also for the advice on working around a lack of FF in Preview.

    Guy.
