I realize information in this thread was last entered in October 2018, but I thought I would let folks know I think something is in fact “buggy” either in Ai or C4D Lite (C4DL).

I had the EXACT same issue with importing text from Ai into C4DL after following along with the C4DL for Beginners course on LinkedIn.

In my case, while trying to get “GEAR” into C4DL, holes for letters “A” and “R” would not import properly. I went through the steps to resolve the issue as listed by other posters and had no luck. Then, on try 15 or 16, the issue simply stopped occurring.

I merged objects from an .ai file, with the boxes checked for Connect Splines and Group Splines, and the issue simply stopped.

If I have the issue again, I will post, but hopefully others who are having a similar problem will realize they may likely not be doing anything incorrectly in their process.
