As a work around you can create a second version of your menu that does not have the intro. You would then link your assets to this second menu.

Encore CS3 does not have the ability to export to CMF or DDP 3.0 formats which are required for Blu-ray replication. If you find a way around this please post it here.

Yes, you can author once and then export to Blu-ray, SD DVD, and Flash all from the same session.

I think I’m leaning towards the 17″ with the 1920×1200 screen display.
Now if only those 160gb 7200rpm drives were in stock…

Hey Walter,

Which system would you get? I like the idea of the more portable 15″ with the LED display, but the 1920×1200 display on the 17″ sounds good too. Those seem to be the main differences.

Encore does not support multi angle. I encourage you to submit a feature request for this to Adobe so they know people want it in the next release.

What should I get if I need the following?

Shooting and editing multicam with two Canon H1s in free run time code. I need this time code to transfer so I can sync up the cameras in Final Cut. Also, since the audio is not embeded via the Canon’s HD-SDI I would need analog audio inputs I believe.

I also need to be able to upconvert SD footage that I will be mixing in with the HDV footage.

My current system is a Dual 2.3 GHz PowerPC G5 with 4.5GB of Ram and is PCI.

What costs would be involved in adding a Fibre Channel Array to my setup? Currently I’m using a 1000GB G-Raid FW 800 drive.
