Hi Pascalle, I’d suggest a couple of things – use as many markers as you can at different depths (you’ll need foreground, mid range and background) so that the tracker has 3D depth information – then mask out your singer before tracking. It only needs to be a rough garbage matte around the performer, leaving only the tracking markers visible.

Hi. Imposed would be an unusual word to use. Of your suggestions I would go with – I will put your name and logo on this helicopter (which is common usage). If you want to be more formal – I will put your name and log onto this helicopter.

Hi. Can you use the cloud/wipe as a track matte with the appearing layer as the top layer? Depending on how you want the transition to complete you might blow out the cloud layer, fade it into a white background or even something more dynamic.

Hi. It really depends on how tacky you are happy to have it look. You might get the model in focus away from the camera and lit properly without a green screen, shoot a high res still and then mask out the background. You could perhaps shoot a couple of different angles to cut away to? Depends on the look you are going for.

  • Hi. Yes, make a white solid and paste your mask (make sure the white solid is above your other layer). In your comp panel on the right of the layer name you should see parent/mode/TrkMat(for track matte), under TrkMat you should set the dropdown to Luma. This means that only where the white is will any image appear. If you can’t see TrkMat heading press the Toggle Switches button on the bottom of the panel. Track Mattes are really useful and worth learning a bit about.

HI. He gives what I presume is the formula in a post above:

“I reckon this is the best recipe – get Dulux paint in a Bold Yellow base with SS 8n per litre – 8 notches of SS (Strong Green tint) per litre – it’s gold! But don’t tell anyone – it’s a schecret.”

Hi. Your magnification view is set to 1.5%, could that be it?

Hi Mike. You can replace your blue layer(s) with the texture but keep the blue layers settings etc. by:
selecting your blue layer in the Comp Panel
select your texture in the Project Panel and, holding down the Alt key, drag it to over the selected blue layer.
    Is that of any use?
