I copied over the event from the backup to the current projects.
Do I delete that whole large backup folder in finder? By dragging to the trash?

thanks again for your thorough responses, very helpful! I’m going to do just as you said. Just to be clear, would I do the deleting of my backups in finder or in FCP? Also, since the “current projects working backup” contains on project that is not in the current projects folder, I’m guessing I should move that one up to current projects so that it doesn’t go missing?

First off, thanks so much for taking some time to help, I really appreciate it.
Just to clarify, the drive you are looking at in the screen shot above is my media drive, its a 2nd internal hard drive in my laptop. So my current projects is located on a different drive than the boot drive with FCPX app on it.

You’re right about the libraries. I’ve always been confused by this and thought I had it figured out until the 10.2 update. I’d like to only work with the media I need for a current project (job) instead of having my laptop need to find and see all of my past projects when I don’t need them. So what you are saying is I need to create a new library for each video project right? To clarify some more, I have a modest YouTube channel (“Gallup Journey Test Drives”) where I do amateur car reviews. In general, for each car I test, I generate all my media of the vehicle and basically only use that media for each project/video I create to upload. There is some media I use between projects: shots of other test drives, a common intro bumper and outro bumper etc… Could you offer little more advice on how to better manage my media?

For know I’m going to run a backup and then transfer over the “current projects backup working” folder onto an external HD to make space on my internal media drive. I think that will get me rolling again.
The one problem I seem to have is that my “current projects folder” and my “current projects backup working folder” share the same date as well as have several of the same projects on them. I’m assuming that’s only because they are both opening at the same time when I am opening FCPX correct? (this happened months ago when I was trying to recover some lost data)
