my point is WILL FCP X handle timeline Codecs in the way the NEW ADOBE Premier does..

hmmm.ya i wasnt sure I can drop any codec into FCP 7 but I not only have to render but some codecs will cause my Final cut to crash on a regular basis, H.264 in particular

Thanks guys! I got the Log and Transfer to Work on the Canon 7D folders but I get errors messages on anything shot on the 5D. ANy ideas, Thanks again for all the help.

Yes and the clients says its Dead on. But when it play out of FCP he says its off.

I’m exporting as a QuickTime movie, the client claims the whole thing is completely out of sink (1-2 frames) off. I can’t tell that it’s off but my client thinks otherwise. I’m cutting on a 3tb raid, on octocore intel mac on Fcp 6. When I play a converted qt he thinks it’s off when I play the qt in the Fcp time line he says it’s dead on. I’ve tried to explain that the talent is young and she could just be off timing but he’s not listining and Im not sure what to do next.

Hey Andrew, I’ve noticed that some DV cameras are deliberately fixed so one cannot print to tape, they do this so the editors will spend 5k on a DV deck. Older cameras tend to work when you print to tape, for example my Sony Cam wont Print to tape but my 8 year old JVC will.

Sorry Maybe more details. Im trying to merge clips with audio so there are one clips rather than one audio file and One video file in the TImeline.

Yes they slated. Where is this merge clips feature? Is it in Fcp 6 or just 7?

Well what im really Lookin. For is way to watch the clips in the preview with sound. I read somewhere you line up the video and Audio in the timeline and link it then when you click on said file in the browser video you can watch it with sound in the preview window, is any of this making sense? Lol
