Look, Ya it works, but like many other FCP7 editors are saying it will die out without support in 2 years it will be a relic, Apple has made some stupid and ridiculous assumptions, Telling us what the Future is and isn’t in post production and they have way to much pride to admit there wrong or made a mistake. Im personally done supporting them, My next Desktop, Phone, Laptop and Tablet will be Windows 7 and Android, Apple wants to stop making computers and start making “smart” Microwaves, best of luck to them. Cause Im no longer supporting that backstabbing company anymore. And just so were clear I dont HATE iMovie X Pro, Its neat and my Brother (19), Dad (60) and my Mom LOVE it they’ve cut almost a dozen family videos together since it came out, so I guess apples happy as long as they keep pleasing people like that. But to Kill off FCS is why myself and many others are angry and its hard not to shift the blame on iMovie X Pro, And Thats why so many editors Hate the program, Its not that its BAD NLE program, there mad, this was marketed as the Future of NLE and the “next” Final Cut Pro, witch by now we all can see it isnt, in fact it doesn’t even come close. IF you are angry write a letter to apple and STOP buying there products! But the majority have already brought and installed Loin, so apple thinks that there doing great! Boycott the iphone 5, if we want to teach them a lesson we have to boycott there products. Just my 2 cents.

Well Craig We all know your more than excited and supportive of apples new NLE program, its quite clear you like it, but that doest always mean that what everyone else is saying about is wrong. But PLEASE do not be confused iMovie X is a really neat intuitive program, I DONT HATE THE PROGRAM. I hate the fact that apple slapped on the FInal Cut Pro Name, On something that was obviously built off the IMovie Code and marketed to be the “next” Final Cut.
I don’t want to get into a whole long argument/Debate about What apple did right/wrong its irrelevant at this point, they did it, Final Cut Pro is dead move on. I’ve accepted it and am moving into Avid and Premiere, Im not happy about it but Its what you have to do as a editor “evolve” so to speak.

Consumers want to edit on a ipad with little to no problems, do i really have to get into this again? Randy Said he designed this program so one could edit a family video with ease on a cruise ship, THATS FINE. Again I can Appreciate a NLE program thats simple easy and fun to use. In the year few years will we’ll see 200$ cameras that shoot in 4k res, 3D and much much more! SO apple is prepared with iMovie X when thats happens.
Again I DO NOT HATE THE PROGRAM, NOR Do I HATE the People who are using it. If its works for you thats great, Im just disappointed much like the other 3% randy says used FCP Studio on a Income Career Basis.

Informative non the less, but i can’t help but feel this “its a great program” approach is a little biased, I mean Steves making money off Teaching FCPX, Making New Plug Ins, and New Consulting for FCPX its no wonder he’s trying to market it as a Great Program. I’ve recently accepted that Apple is Focusing on Software and Hardware that is targeted to the average Consumer, and thats fine, disappointing, but fine. I think iMovie X 10.0 is a great program, for certain things.

Hey Guys THanks.t, Its gonna take time to learn the UI I keep wanting to Double Click everything to change the specs on it and I need to get that habit out of my head. But IM following some of the tips here and I got the flash to work but it doesn’t fade into the next shot, it just fades up to white then JUMPS into the next shot, Ive tired Center on cut, start on cut, end on cut and its all the same. ANy Ideas?

I dont mind thats is iMovie X, but its a 64 bit iMovie, thats what it is, and if you can’t see that you are blind.
BUT that doesnt make it a Bad program, I have nothing against iMovie in general whatever gets your job done IM all for it it doesn’t matter what you cut on. What Myself and others ARE raging and complaining about is that APPLE DROPPED FCS in place for iMovie X. Thats what were upset about.
