So your advise relates solely to those who may capture via their video cards. Yes? Others who will have a separate f/w card, would need probably need a win10 legacy or some such for that card.

Do you plug in your f/w cable into your video card?

That’s some old kit. OK your Pannie can record in 16×9, so that’s widescreen. It is miniDV so that’s tape and scratchy my memory cell, you need to wrangle that too for 16×9. Now, VP7… again my brain cell is struggling with this.

So, in essence, a camera that can record in 16×9 can be edited in Vegas; keep its ratio and then output to a format that itself is 16×9. But then you’d need to confirm that the means to screen is 16×9.

So, to answer your question, a camera should do what you want if it is in specs; VP will do it to. But then the way you’re going to view it needs to be conformed to 16×9.

I should have asked – why? Why are you this far into editing with old kit needing to do this? Are you selling this form an older user?

    Intriguing. . . .

  • [László Kovács] “But even worse, that mousewheel down doesnt work at all.”

    Working in Gaussian Blur.

Yes, that last decimal place Mouesewheel is AWOL. I moved on. You can Ctlr+Drag Slider if you don’t want to add numbers manually? I experiment with that 10,000th adjustment manually, if I want to gauge if it makes any difference at all.

László, post the veg here, people could test it easily. I don’t need any media.

It appears to me you have some Pre- Post- wrangling going on with those FXs.

Can you supply details of your Pan?crop for the underlying “windows” Graphics. I agree, something is misbehaving. I’m not sure having a convenient alternative as you asked for will be a solution.
