Hi Dave! Great to see you again here.

I’ve got lots of disk space but the problem I have is dubbing. We have to do quick turnaround on this projects, sending drives out via fedex. I have to dub a back up on this end and a typical project can take 4 hours to dub. The person watching the project does not need quality, but a basic video image. If I can digitize in a smaller format, it would really speed up the process.

Is DV the smallest I can get?

Actually no! I didn’t know that! So I guess I’m going for MP4s if I want them smaller?

I’ve got one of these and I love it, but it has no input capacity. I need to feed an S-video/RCA audio signal into a box (or card) that will then encode it in some format that Final Cut can use. The files for DV are too big. Looking for a smaller size file.
