    Hi Rafael,
Still a problem. I adjusted the Key frames to 15 (using fcp 6 and dont see option for AUTO).
    frame rate is 23.98.

Do you have settings for youtube you like?

    Thanks

Oh, and I only have markers in clips not sequences so that they will stay doing edits.

Thanks Keith, yeah it was quite easy without MM. I didn’t check “all relative media” i just selected all the media in each bin then reconnected and that worked fine.

    Thanks again!

    Jeremy,
Thank you. So far that is what the problem was. I did a bit of tweeking of settings and did a batch capture and so far vids are syncing. (minus a drop-out or two on a clip, hopefully I can just re-capture again) The XL2 did need a head cleaning prior to project. Maybe wasn’t 100%.
Well, I’m learning everyday with this thing they call technology, so thanks for your help. Thank you to the others for the tips, as well.

    Thanks Herb,
I’m gonna go and fiddle around, mainly try re-importing footage.
As for the Aux TC feature is that possible if i can’t get the clips to sync or are we talking about identical clips in same timeline, but on two different tracks? Not sure how Aux TC works.

I believe it gradually falls out of sync. Its hard to tell because it happens so quickly. Only after about ten seconds. Maybe my I’m syncing poorly the sticks and sound, but…
Why is one better than other? Maybe its the tape (like drop-outs)? maybe the DVX audio from board is different rate, but wouldn’t that not match it’s video?

I tried to do that, but even the (what I thought) were clean clips don’t sync. Could it not be a TC problem?

Yes free run, but start times were all different.

Why can’t I ingest whole tape? What is the proper way? Batch?

    Hi Michael,
Thanks for the reply. Tapes recorded with no cuts. However, if I continue having the TC breaks while capturing from the one XL2 then there will be multiple clips for that one.
Yes, all clips are same rate and editing on a 29.97 timeline, but shot 24p. If the XL2’s were in 24p (2:3:3:2) mode and the DVX in normal 24p could that cause problems. Is there a way to tell the frame rate of the source material on fcp. The browser columns just says 29.97 from the capture, is that correct.

So pluraleyes wouldn’t work if the tapes are continuously rolling with no cuts. What if some captured footage had dropped frames? would that create new clips?
