The Problem I am having is basically…I’m a freelance Motion Designer working with an editor at a production company. The templates have to be designed today and tomorrow with the final edits being completed next week in Final Cut Pro (the editor is insistent on not rendering from After Effects as he will be on a very tight deadline and has little experience with it). So…I need a technique of exporting a png image sequence with selected solids rendered as transparent the way a background would be so a clip can be pasted underneath in Final Cut Pro.

Thats amazing Dan, works great. Could you help me with one more thing? Is there a way to move the pin without effecting the mesh as if you were pulling it out and repositioning it elsewhere?

Cheers for the replies, I got riot gear, really good stuff. I also got exactly the effect i wanted using the stroke tool to gradually reveal the image around edge’s while the matte inks bled in the colour. Really happy with it.

    I’m using After Effects.

Thats all i needed i think, I’ve only just started using the new after effects (was using 6.5 before) and didn’t know about the tracking tool and couldn’t find it with google. I’ve found this tutorial which deals with ink bleeding and the techniques i need.

Where do i find the stock footage?

    Thanks for the response.
