Shortly after the post I found out that the problem can be solved by switching the respective comp from OPEN GL renderer to ADVANCED 3D. So I think that indeed the images are resampled.

What came to my attention, was that the Motion Blur effect as well as the Frameblending did not work correctly under OPEN GL as well.

Is this a general OPEN GL issue? Could I use OPEN GL with a few tweaks or a new render plug-in?

Anyway i will continue to use ADVANCED 3D for now.
