Are you saying you have 30 hours of Pro Res files you want to cut with in Avid, or are you saying this project has already been cut in Final cut, and you want to move the whole project over?
I’f its just prores, fast import into avid and go. If its sequences, than as others have said, automatic duck or Boris Transfer.

My box goes through a few different configs, depending on the type and size of project I’m working on. I use it with Avid DS mostly, as well as Media composer and resolve.
I have had two graphics card in it, K4000 and gtx 780?..not sure about the exact model. That gave me real time red at half res good.
Just remember it isn’t all about the graphics card. Ram, and storage play a role as well. Fast storage is a must in my experience. As well, for most red work, I don’t need to be at full premium unless I’m looking at a particularly noisy shot. Other wise I keep the resolution lower until its time to render.
For the most part though, I love the z820. Totally customizable, which for me is a must. Add in thunderbolt from all the shooters who forget that not everyone is on a mac, and its great.

Sorry, can’t comment on those boards. I have a dual processor z820.
I would be careful going away from the config guide if you are doing a DIY box. The guide is there for a reason. For the Dell, you would have to make sure you understand how the slots are divided up for the sharing of resources. Just because you have six slots, doesn’t mean you can use them all for anything you want.
Do a lot of research. Read the boards manual. It will usually be pretty clear what can and can’t be plugged in at the same time.

I know slot 5 on the newest z820 is needed for the thunderbolt adapter, and is wired to a separate chipset because of that. This might be why they are saying not to use it?
The newest config guide doesn’t have any restrictions on the asus motherboard for resolve 11.

has all your media been transcoded to mxf inside Avid, or are you using mixed codecs?
In the timecode column inside resolve, is it showing the proper timecode for the footage?
I get this a lot out of avid. A handful of clips just won’t work. Always trying to track down if it is a camera source issue/ Avid aaf issue/resolve aaf issue/ transcode issue, or just a computer that wants to give me a daily challenge.

Just try doing your own AMA link to the originals. If that is what they were linking to, your sequence should populate. From there you should be able to transcode it to what ever you need.

I went through this a couple of months ago…All I could figure out was to manually change each clip.

Thanks Mike, I checked with an old co worker who actually worked with the monitor…He confirmed we ran SDI out of the computer, to a convertor hidden behind the monitor, and fed it what he thought was a DVI signal.

Just looking at the specs for this thing. I assumed this was a broadcast monitor, but it looks to be just a computer monitor. Inputs are DVI, HDMI and Display port. There is no mention of any restrictions for signal or frame rates. At my old facility we had a dream color broadcast monitor, with full SDI inputs. Those devices will typically spell out quite clearly what you can and can’t feed into it. I see no reason why you would have issues with any computer display into this. If you are buying this thinking its a colour critical monitor, you may be mistaken… but I’m sure it would take an HDMI signal out of the blackmagic mini monitor device.

Scott, I’m not an expert on dreamcolor, but I’m not sure why it wouldn’t play nice with any hdsdi feed into it. (It might not play nice with certain types of formats…psf for example, but that would cross over from any device feeding that signal)
Resolve will only recognize Blackmagic hardware, so the AJA isn’t going to do you any good. My first resolve build involved a cheap Blackmagic card to feed hdsdi/sdi into the monitor. I think the card was 120 dollars or something like that. Just a very simple decklink I/O card. It should fit in an open slot in your Mac. (I still use that card on one of my systems, several years later…money well spent)
Black magic also has the thunderbolt mini monitor devices. I know another guy who uses that. Not sure if it is only hdmi out or if it has hdsdi. For that matter, not sure if the dream colour you are referring to has only sdi, or other options.
