    Nice answer. Digitally (even in the world of audio), you only lose quality if you export at a lower resolution, or the signal goes through analogue/digital conversion (via composite/component transfers). The beauty of digital is lossless transfers. But of course, it’s impossible to gain quality via increasing the resolution once you have compressed it somewhere along the line..

    hmm… rendering compromises quality? That’s a thought to ponder…

    Yup, I’m getting the same problem here… 0 registers as -18 dBs. When I clip on my mixer, i get ard -6dBs on Final Cut, and it’s not funny when FCP 5.1 only has 12 dBs of gain (which isn’t so cool when occasionally i’ve super low recorded dialogue somewhere on tape). Can’t find the volume control from the AJA output…
