Well… I guess what ever has happened the production must go on!

But yes I think you’re probably right about the EVS mode…mmmm…
the vid files seem to play fine (without interlacing) on media player…and eventually everything will go through AE to get graded and all …so hopefully it will all be ok…

I must do some more research on this EVS mode thou…

oh and just one quick question before bedtime … whats the usual data rate for DV AVI captured from DVcam (16×9) ?? anyone??

Well… you know its a mystery to me as to why this has happened…

Video was shot on 25P (new zealand)

I shot this video on a DSR 570, which is a nice DVcam camera…and my camera man said he was absolutely sure he shot it in prog scan(can’t turn back time to check…) and so i believe him(as I’ve asked several times if it was prog scan or not) …

and another interesting thing was that when i put some of the footage into after effects for a quick grad and rendered it, it seems to be seeing prog scan (interlaced footage that “images” as progressive. as you so nicely put it)
And…. render settings were defaulted to “no fields” in AE which should be what AE has detected from the footage… and it all renders out quite nicely…

sooo… for some reason either prem has captured it in interlaced or its progscan but somehow (even after project settings were set to prog scan) it shows it as interlaced??

(am I making any sense??)

and i know its showing interlaced in premiere because when i hold on a frame i get the shudder/flicker and also on the computer i can see the interlace lines on shots with movement…

sooo… i dunno timK …have I gone crazy and seeing delusional interlace lines? (only in premiere pro thou)… strange strange strange…

Thanks for the reply… righto …

the project settings were set to “no frames (progressive scan)”
and all other settings were the default for 16×9 widescreen…

so Because the project was set to “no frames” i would think it would try to capture it all as prog scan … and I’ve also checked for capture settings and read some of the help files …but no luck. I can’t find specific settings for capturing prog scan or interlaced (settings are only in overall project settings)…. and yes I am viewing the video through (2) external monitor one through S-vid and other through RCA. so the computer is sending the vid to the DRS40 dvcam deck (via firewire) and then outputting it on s-vid and composite.

so I’ve got all this video which shows interlaced on a project set to prog scan… plays fine, but when i select field options in the clip window to de-interlace it, it requires that the video to be rendered…. i dunno man, i mean its ok and i can still work with it… but I just don’t know what happened …

are there specific settings for catpure (which specify fields and frame rates etc on prem pro 1.5??)
