You can’t afford $24.99 per month for the entire suite of Adobe products? You will never see a price like that again after August.

I unfortunately just bought a new Macbook to take advantage of that deal and bought the latest model (non retina) with the Nvidia 650M with 512 Vram and installed all my software only to find the Mercury playback engine only works in software mode. I hope I can return it for an older model that works. Does anyone know how much power for other apps I will be sacrificing if I go with the And 6750 or 6770?

You Seem to be very knowledgeable on FCP. I have a similar issue, several hours of 5D & 7D raw footage for a single 30 second spot. Rather than transcode all that raw footage, what happens if if I do a rough cut on H.264 timeline and drag the clips or the entire timeline into a Prores timeline and render it out will the transcoding done in the renderer be as good as if I went back and transcoded the raw files first?

Secondly the H.264 timeline plays back fine on my computer screen but chokes going through my BlackMagic Multibridge Pro box. Is that because it can’t process the H.264 output of the timeline in real time?

Yes I have although I am more familiar with AE. I was trying to motion stabilize my top layer which is a girl pulling on a spear attached to the back of a blue object underwater which I was able to key out. I used the spear tip as my stabilization tracking point and set the tracker to Horizontal and Vertical tracking and ran the analyze function. the tracker stayed with the tip of the spear but when I played the layer back the spear point was still not locking to a single point on the screen it was drifting a bit. I want to be able to lock that spear tip to the fin of a moving whale using the Match Move function. I wound up trying to do it frame by frame manually but I am not happy with the results. Any suggestions.

Here is my end result at present but I am not happy with it. The masking is off as well but I can fix that.
