Did you find a solution to your problem? I have similar needs but have been using Photoshop (as thats what I have) but its not really working very well as you cannot easily flip back and forth between frames to see if things are working. Also its rather long and arduous to import and edit the frames back to FCP. I guess the new motion has paint tools but I am still on the previous version… waiting for Studio 3s release…
