It seems my timeline cursor is stuck between frames. If you notice, the highlighted portion of the timeline that indicates the active frame falls to the left and the right of the timeline cursor. I don’t know how to unshift this.

January 20, 2018 at 2:15 am in reply to: A problem unlike I’ve seen before: Animation changes when nesting a pre-comp. Or something.Thanks for the suggestion Dave. I guess expression language has changed between 2018 and one of the older ones, because the expression I used to drive the cursor in the text is broken in 2014/15/17, so unfortunately going legacy won’t help me.

Much obliged for the aid in time of need.
– Dave, I’ll try 2017 and see if that works.

Ok carry on.

January 16, 2018 at 9:05 pm in reply to: Render Queue Jumps to Comp Window while RenderingOne year later, this is still an issue. It’s been a problem for me for at least that long, I only just now decided to do something about it. I wanted to keep this thread alive because this is frustrating – if I want to cancel a render, for example, I no longer can.
At this point I guess we are to consider this a bug and not a feature to be corrected?

November 9, 2017 at 1:35 pm in reply to: Shape size auto-adjust to text – excluding text descenders!Any chance there is a way to do it without actually cropping the layer? I’ve made a custom cursor that moves with the text using sourceRecAtTime, using an expression posted by Dan Ebberts (thanks Dan!), but the descenders keeping changing the cursor’s position in Y space, when I want it to only respond to X plane info. As soon as a p or a y comes on the screen, the cursor shifts lower on the Y plane.
xOffset = 220;
yOffset = 0;
L = thisComp.layer(“1138 may ln phoenix”);
rect = L.sourceRectAtTime(time,false);
L.toComp([rect.left+rect.width,rect.top+rect.height]) + [xOffset,yOffset]; -
I’m having a similar issue.

July 18, 2017 at 10:20 pm in reply to: I just want to change a solid colored background. Now my skin and hair are out of wack.First of all, THANK YOU for taking a look at this with me.
I tried Change to Color, but I kept getting huge chunky splotches. Can I ask what your setting were? Maybe I’ve never known how to properly use it. I was using RGB as the selector setting, with a really low threshold and softness. It seems whenever I use Change Color/Change to Color/Hue Saturation/et al I always ended up with something very chunky and ugly when viewed in motion.
I’m not trying to key it out (one of the problems on set was the Gaffer had lit it TOO evenly, making things look like a key), but would like the natural green spill to shift naturally with the background, so, for example, it looks like it was lit with purple light, or orange (I need to make a few colors).

Ah! That is indeed the issue. Thank you! I was not really even aware of Cineware before. Bush league!
