Was a resolution to this problem found?

I have what seems to be a very similar problem.
I’ve got an original HDLink, and downloaded the latest V3.5 HDLink Utility.
My HDLink works (signal on my cinema display).
However I can’t get the HDLink Utility to recognise the unit. I’ve tried in Mac OSX, and Windows XP.
Settings are always greyed out in the utility, so I can’t control it.

Any help much appreciated.
