  • It matters because it could negatively impact sales of the neuMac Pro. Probably at least half of those would have purchased high end Mac Pro hardware, where now that money is instead going to HP, Dell, etc.

[Marcus Moore] “It’s called a discussion forum for some reason… Hmmmm.”

Can’t really do much discussion about total b.s.

[Marcus Moore] “Until then its unclear.”

But heaven forbid that should stop people from tossing numbers around.

[Bill Davis] “First, the idea of smaller and lighter is ALWAYS best.”

Well, if this stops producers for asking for handheld shots, all the better. But I doubt it will, and thus it will be a burden.

[Bill Davis] “ut I wonder all that upgradability and water cooling might end up making it into the camera that harks back to the era when you bought a rig and expected it to serve you for more than a couple of years.”

I predict you’ll have the option to swap out for the 2.5K sensor from the original Blackmagic Cinema Camera and that will be it.

[Michael Gissing] “I share a BM 4K and the Sandisk Extreme 1 SSDs can drop frames shooting 4 k raw at 25fps.Testing the Sandisk Extreme 11 this weekend”

You need the Sandisk Extreme Pro if you want to shoot continuously in 4K raw without dropping frames.

[Bill Davis] “Particularly when we each are allowed to define “Ignorance” as simply “disagrees with ME””

Except when there’s actually no stated disagreement.

[Andrew Kimery] “I think anytime someone can correct inaccurate information it adds to the discussion.”

Actually, people get incensed if you correct anything. They’d prefer to wallow in ignorance apparently.

[Jeremy Garchow] “Sometimes it’s OK to have a little fun.”

It’s trying to make a point with a comparison that is not valid, and it’s from something called “Science Illustrated.” Google Plus is not evidence of anything accelerating, and if by “fun” you mean, “b.s.”, well, okay. You’re more than welcome to enjoy spreading as much of it as you’d like.

[Jeremy Garchow] “in fact, it took Google Plus 88 days.””

That’s not a fair comparison. Google Plus was automatically activated on people with Google accounts, so how long did it take for that many people to have Google accounts of some kind?

[Daniel Goyette] “If that help you great if not maybe someone else can join the discussion i am like the musician above.”

If I am reading right, then you are simply importing a ProRes file into Toast to make a Blu-ray? If this is true, then Compressor cannot possibly be doing anything to it that would make it impossible to correctly close out the disc when it is finished burning.
