  • [Aindreas Gallagher] ” if Premiere doesn’t have CUDA its dead in the water in those scenarios dealing with native camera codecs. that’s right isn’t it?”

Not at all. I go back and forth with CS5.5 on a PC with a GTX285 and my i7 MacBook Pro and don’t have much of a problem dealing with those particular native codecs. From what I hear, CS6 is even better even without hardware support.

  • As long as you have 1GB of video ram, you can easily edit a text file in Premiere to add support for the built-in dedicated graphics option of any newer graphics chipset.

Is it just me or is Fassbender doing a homage to Douglas Rain?

I’m really looking forward to this film.

Very interesting. I’m also in the process of trying to decide whether to go iMac or Mac Mini. The Mini is almost fine for what I want to use it for, except for the AMD Radeon generation lagging a bit behind everyone else (and no 1GB VRAM option).

[Frank Gothmann] “Curious to see where this goes.”

Hopefully Apple will open source ProRes like they did for their lossless audio codec.

He’s referring to using anything else other than a MacPro, which if it doesn’t get refreshed, is going to slip even more behind the current generation technology.

For some reason, in the last two posts I’ve read of yours, you seem unable pick up on people’s points, even when it’s been explained to you.

[Jeremy Garchow] “The future they envision I am sure goes beyond an iDevice.”

    I don’t think so.
