[Chris Mercury] “am I just over-thinking this, when it really doesn’t matter?”
Yes. Make a 30 second spot and be done with it.

Or we could wait a couple months to get the real story from Apple. I’m fairly certain that the world isn’t coming to end between now and then. In the meantime we can continuing creating content with the tools we have.

Total data rate. Some media players have a max data rate around 15 Mb/s.
The other issues your having are quite bizarre, personally I would go back to the original encoding work flow until you get the bugs sorted out. Angry clients are not fun.
Also, you might try the Telestream Episode forum here to see if Craig or any of the other regulars have any pearls of wisdom.

[Jake Hallman] “So they gave it a try. And it worked. Mostly.”
It sounds like you’re close. Try dialing the data rate back a wee bit and see if that eliminates the audio drop outs.

[Daniel Lipien] “something which cost many thousands of dollars in its day”
That camera was worth many thousands in it’s day. The problem is that it’s day is long gone. What’s left is a housing that is full of leaking capacitors, rotting rubber belts, dried up lubricants and a worn out head. Bob’s point is that it would be foolish to repair such a camera. It would cost thousands and you would end up with a camera that produced below average standard definition video. For a fraction of the cost you can buy a brand new camera that will create beautiful high definition video without the added expense of tape.
I have a 500 Mhz IBM computer that I paid a couple of thousand for in it’s day. Today it’s worthless. That Sony BVP-3 is worthless.

The Fuji glass may have some minor value ($200), if you can find a buyer. It’s hard to say since it can’t be tested. The gears or servo motor may be worn out.

The mods should delete this spam.

[Kevin Camin] “Is this a legitimate way to color correct AE footage?”
No. It’s a clunky workaround because you’re comfortable with PS. Step out of you comfort zone and learn to cc within AE.

Do you handle the AV needs internally or do you work with a staging company?
Over the past few years I’ve seen several staging companies replacing their aging Betacam decks with GV Turbos which can handle HD as well as SD. It has 2 channels of playback and one record channel.
* Note – I don’t work for Grass Valley, just a fan of the Turbo.

A highly renowned affordable school is an oxymoron. It’s like asking for an affordable luxury car.
