Thanks for the input. Forced me to reevaluate. I realize that for size and price per gig, its not cost effective. But using 2 of these drives in a small enclosure striped in Raid0 might provide enough speed and be large enough to do what is otherwise not….IE Capturing raw 1080 from a Sony EX into my MacBookPro for later chromekey work on the desktop. So redundancy and reliability is not so important, as its a cheap(er) field-solution for capture. Though with that my concern is the throughput limit that the Silicon Image raid controller chipset places on port multiplication over eSATA…well that and the drives disappearing.
