finally have it playing nice. the p2 footage i was having trouble with was on the hvx-200 demo reel. when i got my hands on a p2 card it came in fine. the hdv issue was worked around by turning off tc on the capture tool and digitizing on the fly. i think that os 10.5.4 and qt 7.5 are working with mc 3.0 but i’ll hold off on any future upgrades.

i’d hold off. i installed mc 3.0 on a mbp that was already up to os 10.5.4 and quicktime 7.5 and it’s not playing nice. import p2 to bin always results in an unexpected quit. and attempts to dig off an hdv deck have not been successful. i’m going to try some other things tomorrow but my gut tells me i got ahead of the “blessed” versions.

i have 2 gig. i try rebulilding the prebinding (not sure that’s the correct phrase) i came across the procedure on the apple user forum. no luck. it involves using the terminal in the applications folder, typing a command and then letting the computer do it’s thing then restart. still searching. . .

guess that would be helpful. . .fcp 4.5 os is 10.3.9 and computer is dual 867 hz g 4.
