That’s great! Thank you very much.

In my case, I have several subdirs into “Render Templates”, presumably one per big rendering family (avc-mc, avi), plus one “Last Used”.

I can see now that I did not check the hidden option “look in hidden folders” when I did the Windows search… that’s the reason why it didn’t appear.

    Anyway, Many thanks again!!

    🙂

Yes, I should probably have written the usual mention… Something like “doing changes to the registry is at your own risks and may defintely corrupt your system”.

Anyway it seems to work. Except for the name of video FX, which stay in French in the list where they appear.

I found the way to change the language without having to reinstall.

    In RegEdit, go to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    + SOFTWARE
    + Sony Creative Software
+ Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum (or other Vegas product)
    + 10.0 (or other version)
    + Lang

Then double clic on the “ULangID” key, and enter 0x409 for English (instead of 0x40c for French).

Yes, I agree, and I have just finshed downloading a trial version in English.

However, I have to save my rendering templates (and first to find where they are on the disk btw), plus all the other stuff I have customized so far, and to which I am not thinking any more, but which I might regret after the uninstall 🙂

Thanks again anyway for your support, that’s very nice to you,

Many thanks Mike, this answers all my questions.

Unfortunately it means, I guess, that my licence for the French Vegas will not work for the English one.

September 2, 2010 at 9:11 pm in reply to: Audio and Video Out of Sync in Timeline

I’ve already got the same problem recently, and I believe I finally found a solution. However I am trying to reproduce it but I can’t find any way to de-sync audio from video, while showing the time shift (such as +x.xx)

Could please explain how you managed to de-synchronize both tracks? Unless somebody else can answer you, it will help me helping you — hope I can find again the fix for this problem…

    Thanks,
    Frédéric

You might try a free tool called m4ng. It’s a video converter accepting many formats in and out. You can select a list of files to process in a batch.

Just google “m4ng” and you will find it.

I did not check if it specifically handles mpg and avi, but I think it should.

I use it regularly to encode my videos to Xvid/MP3.

    Hope it helps,

Thanks John for your answer and for thinking I am ready… But I miss a few hundreds or thousands euros. I already have to buy an h4n audio recorder, a zFinder for my 7D and a new PC…

Any contests on the forum to win an upgrade to Vegas Pro licence?? 😉

  • Hi,

I am also using version 10 of Platinum HD, after having had version 9 (SD).

I am also encountering problems regularly such as:

    – crashes when importing .MOV files directly from the EOS 7D (H264)
    – some red areas in preview from time to time (looks like bad memory handling, as restarting VEgas with the same project usually solves the problem)
    – in some cases, when rendering a project, some parts of it are rendered as black sequences — quite annoying to see this after hours of rendering…
    – DivX rendering does not work on my desktop.

Apart from these problems, and others I probably forget, I am rather a happy user of this version. But looking forward for fixes like you!!

August 30, 2010 at 10:32 pm in reply to: which perf improvements with a new PC?

    Ok, thanks John and all.

I will have to look further at Rendertest data (I did it quickly yet, but unfortunately I could not find any row with my current CPU – an Intel P8400 @ 2.26 GHz). I only found the 2010 version of the test, I should certainly dig for the HDV version of it.

I am impressed by the huge differences I could see, even between different i7 CPUs.

    Best, and thanks again all,
    Frédéric
