    I am just quoting what has been recommended to me by Steve Rhoden …

    “First, Update your version of Vegas to version 8.0c….
    (Remember its free).
    Hopefully this will not result in vegas hanging.”

    Bingo, right on the dot and problem solved !! release 8.0c does the trick to perfection.
