From what I am reading and hearing I don’t need tape to meet that goal. I need an inexpensive storage device (I buy enough to hold several days worth of shooting on them and save them to hard drives when I return from the field so that I can edit) and a camera one that uses the device and makes a solid HD image of high quality). Or, at least, that is what I am hoping will be my solution. Am I out of line?

The P2 card is expensive. I would like to be able to shoot for several days in the field without have to wipe the card clean after downloading it onto a hard drive or computer. I shoot lots of documentary style stuff in, sometimes, remote locations.

I’m just not very tech savvy so please excuse that I continue to ask questions….

I happen to have MPGStreamclip. What compression quality settings would you suggest I use to create a highest quality video that will play on a client website that is being managed by Joomla?

I don’t know what plug-in is being used in Joomla to accept these videos yet either. What plug-in would you suggest for that?

I am using the MPEG-4 option in FCP to create my mp4 file. Is that old Quicktime6 compatible as well?

Thank you so much Ken –

By the way, does Vimeo have the same copyright complications as YouTube does? I signed up for it but really haven’t used it but once.

    Ken –

You mentioned AllVideos plug-in, as did a previous post. Is that the name of the plug-in or the generic name of the Joomla site for video plug-ins?

Bitrate Starter – does that make the file or just analyze it? Does it integrate with Compressor?

Sorry to be such a dunce.

    Peter –

This is a new site that my client has launched but they already have 3 or 4, all of which are linked to this new site. I have no idea what their traffic is on the other sites. But I can say that this client is an association with about 1500 members. And they are making a big push to maximize marketing for their member’s product. And this site has ties to the Smithsonian.

I will certainly do so in the future (use progressive mode). But the footage I am talking about is already in the can. I will look at the footage on the best monitor I have, which is a low end Sony monitor that I bought at least eight years ago.

Yes. This is my 8 core Mac.
Thanks for the tip about interlacing. I will try it.
