The problem turned out to be related to the syncing difficulties in the originally captured footage. When I re-uploaded in small chunks rather than a tape at a time these were resolved and I was also able to export properly. Thanks again for the replies.

Thanks Anthony. I think it was captured at 16 bit, but is there any way I can check.

When I look at ‘audio format’ in the project, all the ‘sequences’ are 32-bit floating point. All the imported tape footage (before it’s put in sequences) is 16-bit integer. There is also one audio-only capture at 24-bit integer. Might this be the problem?

The video is DV-Pal anamorphic. I’m not sure how to check the codec.

I’d love to get this sorted as it is video footage of a trip made by people with disabilities to the european parliament – I recorded nine hours for them and have reduced it to a half hour film, which I now can’t export.

I’m unable to check if log and capture is out of sync on another project as I don’t have my camera here.

I did capture other projects before without problems.

I think the log and capture problem with this project may have been because I loaded hour long tapes in one go.

However regarding the export problem, I I just opened another Final Cut project on my computer and exported a small sequence – it seems to work fine.
