    Thanks Jon,

I am getting some PC maintenance next week as I think the sound problem may be more general. If I isolate the problem back to avid I will post again.

    regards

Thanks for the help.I am now capturing all the pictures fine (I changed the project settings, sorry to be crass), but for some reason my PC is not generating any sound although I can see it fluctuating on the AVID. What could I be missing now?
I am a bit stuck, any suggestions welcome.

    Thanks Jon,
but still having trouble. The machine templates that it loads under generic only seems to have 3 choices:-
    DVbasicdevice-PAL
    DVdevice – PAL
    DV transcoder – PAL
ie. I cannot load an NTSC deck, could this be because I bought this version of the software in the UK or am I missing something else??

    Thanks Jon.

I still have a few problems capturing.
I have upgraded to Avid 5.7 for PC. I have a SonyHDR FX1 NTSC camera. The project settings on the pop-up menu only recognise this camera as a PAL HDR FX1 (On a fire wire) and thus it will not capture from it. Is there anyway around these settings or do I have to re-invest in a PAL camera.
    Any suggestions greatly received
